Twitter has rolled out an updated
Windows Phone app for version 7 and above. The update brings the app in
line with Twitter apps for other platforms and includes features that
make it easier for users to discover and share content on the
micro-blogging site.
First up is the revamped navigation section: Twitter
has added the four new tabs - Home, Connect, Discover and Me, also
found on Android and iOS versions. The home tab allows users to see
tweets from the accounts they follow, can tap a tweet to expand it and
see more content, including pictures, videos and website summaries.
Discover allows users to see the
trending content and find what's new on the micro-blogging site. Users
can also use this tab to browse categories, find friends on the site.
The 'Me' tab makes it easier to read and respond to direct messages,
lists and favourites and more.
Another notable update is the support to
Windows Phone's trademark Live Tiles. Users can now pin Twitter
accounts, lists and even searches to the start screen.
There are new icon buttons in the
Application Bar that allows users to compose a Tweet or search from
anywhere in the app. You can grab the updated Twitter for Windows Phone
from the Windows Phone Store.
